My wife and I were in Target two days ago finishing off the last of our shopping. While we were there, I was struggling to keep my shorts from sliding of what's left of my waist. So I told my wife I'm off to go try some pants on and see what size I am now.
Sure enough: I'm down to an easy 32!
Wow, I thought: haven't worn 32 since I was in high school!
I mentioned this to my Dad last night, who has also lost several inches using Zylene, and he was reminding me of a condition called Syndrome X, also known as Metabolic Syndrome. This is worth knowing about because it's a more common physical condition than you might realize.
Metabolic syndrome is a combination of medical disorders that increase one's risk for cardiovascular disease and diabetes. It affects a large number of people in a clustered fashion. In some studies, the prevalence in the USA is calculated as being up to 25% of the population. ...
It is known under various other names, such as (metabolic) syndrome X, insulin resistance syndrome...
One of the major indicators of this condition (which is really a
collection of disease happening at the same time) is "increased waist
circumference" or having an "apple shaped" body (due to the increased
waist).
However, if these other conditions are also present (and having the
increased waist size would probably warrant checking for these), then
the diagnosis would be this Syndrome X or Metabolic Syndrome:
- Elevated blood pressure
- An
elevated level of the blood fat called triglycerides and a low level of
high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol — the "good" cholesterol
- Resistance to insulin, a hormone that helps to regulate the amount of sugar in your body
[see references at end of this post for more data]
What I love about the Zylene is that we have been getting all sorts
of anecdotal evidence that people are having improved blood sugar,
lowered blood pressure and a loss of waist size. On this last one, it
might be important to note that often Zylene users are saying they have
hit a plateau on their weight, but are still losing waist size or suspect they are building "lean muscle", which
is exactly what has been happening to me.
That would seem to mean that the correct metric/statistic on
measuring Zylene's effectiveness is not so much weight loss, but waist size or inches.
Obviously losing weight is a good thing to most people. But this
"plateau" in weight loss, if viewed from this Syndrome X angle, would
seem to be merely a footnote and probably of little concern.
As with all of this stuff, you should keep your own counsel and
school yourself on information like this so you can be more responsible
for your own health and not dependent on the advice of others.
Zylene has assisted me personally by helping me have more power of
choice over what I eat. So I'm eating less of the addictive, bad-fer-ya
type foods that are the hardest to put down. This appears to be
helping me by canceling out the first indicator of Metabolic Syndrome.
Whether I had any of the other symptoms, or was on that road, I don't
know at this point. But I can tell you I'm happy to be free of that first one!
