The other day I happened upon the Kennedy Space Center website and saw that in three days, there was going to be a shuttle launch. So I scheduled Google to let me know with a text message to my phone just in time to pop outside and see it, hopefully, with some binoculars.
One look outside told me I was dreaming. It was overcast, or at least hazy enough that I wouldn't see Cape Canaveral from where we live in Tampa Bay.
So I did some quick Gogling for "webcam kennedy space center" and found the official one for Kennedy. Sure enough they were simulcasting the take-off. The link is below to the page and the link we clicked on was the top one called "Primary Real Player Stream". This one worked really well for my Mac, but you might try some of the others if it doesn't work for you.
The take off was truly awesome!
Now they are showing replays.
The quality of the video is superb, too.
The Kennedy Space Center keeps a countdown of all their launches on the main site. It's worth marking the next one on your calendar. Our kids loved it.
