Her water has indeed broken but labor has not really kicked in like it should. According to the RN here, when water breaks it should send a signal to the body to go into contraction mode. If that doesn't happen there are some natural things one can do to help that along. Pitosin, a drug used to induce contractions, is not an option because she had our last child caesarian ('long live Caesar!'). We aren't huge fans of the pharma-approach anyway.
She is still at about 3cm and 60% or so effaced (if you are a parent, this kind of detail probably doesn't weird you out--for all you with a lower threshold for such things, you might try reading other categories in this budding blog :).
There is a nautural hormone balancer I want to give her called Master Gland (no I am not making ths up). Supposedly this helps. We'll see.
As I write this, Christine is doing power laps around her hospital room floor. If she goes any faster she'll start a vortex. (The midwife on duty till six is our fav so C wants to have the baby during that time. I know better than to debate the point.)
Next update will be when labor contractions have started unless something notable happens.
Disclaimer: most of these updates I wouldn't consider typcial blogging material, but we have a lot of family and friends who want the latest and with details. So this will probably inturrupt regular peogramming, as it were.
